I've had problems sleeping since I was around 6 years old. I believe that was caused from abuse I received from my grandfather at the time. Now I'm 37 years old and I can be awake for day's at a time. I've tried so many different sleep adds given to me by my doctor. The meds will only work for a short time. It's like my body has become ammune to any medication I receive. This lack of sleep and rest has taken a serious toll on my poor body and has caused medical conditions such as Fibromylgia which in my case causes severe pain throughout my entire body. I was hoping that someone could give me some advice here to help me out. I'm desperate and I'm on my last leg or so it seems. My work is suffering even my parenting skills and that's what scares me the most. I have a 9 %26amp; 14 year old both with mental illnesses so it's even more of a challenge for me. Please help!! Give me some advice from your experences or whatever!! Desperate one I am!!!Having Trouble Sleeping. Can Someone give me ADVICE? HELP the Sleepless one PLEASE!!?
Have you tried any of the antidepressants. You could be depressed, by helping your depression you could improve all areas of your life. Insomnia is a symptom of depression and a few other mental illnesses. I suggest you see a psychiatrist, if you haven't already.
I am on Trazodone, which helps me sleep and helps with my depression.Having Trouble Sleeping. Can Someone give me ADVICE? HELP the Sleepless one PLEASE!!?
Have you tried hypnosis?
I'm very sorry to hear about all the trouble you're having; you must be a strong person to have made it this far! I can relate to being abused, I was also abused by my grandfather and know what it's like to have trouble getting to sleep. When I did manage to fall asleep, I would have nightmares about past abuse and other scary things. What really helped me sleep at night was drinking a hot cup of camomile tea before I went to sleep, it also helps with having pleasant dreams. Reading part of a book in bed also helps too (it tires out your eyes and makes you sleepy - for me at least). A relaxing bath before bedtime helps too.
Good luck with everything, I wish you the best of luck. :)
take a hot shower drink a glass of wine, or nyquil
